Antonio Savarese

Antonio Savarese
Having grown up in the Four Corners area of the Southwest, Antonio has been fortunate enough to have lived in a wide variety of landscapes. Most notably such landscapes include: at the base of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, amongst the red rock buttes of Monument Valley located on the Navajo reservation, along the San Juan River in Bluff, and finally here in Moab.
Exposure to the geological diversity that can only be found on the Colorado Plateau has led to both Antonio’s appreciation and love for the landscape in which he paints.
His most current inspiration, in regards to painting style, is drawn from the artwork of the Californian Impressionists, circa 1910s-1930s. Artists such as William Wendt and Edgar Payne seemed to distill the very best qualities of the scenes in which they were painting.
Antonio is dual disciplined and works in both oil and pastels mediums.
Antonio was awarded the sole, 2019, artist residency for both Canyonlands National Park and Arches National park, completing a 7-month long tour of plein air paintings.
His work is displayed at both Gallery Moab and Moab Made, as well as through privately reserved tours of his studio in Moab Utah.
